Colefax and Fowler Autumn/Winter 2021
The Autumn collection 2021 draws on the rich decorative heritage of Colefax and Fowler and combines the joyful colour and detail of classically beautiful florals with the elegant simplicity of block prints and the classic tailoring of linen checks, stripes and plains.
In the Cristabel collection Tree Poppy and Emmeline, both printed on linen, share a taste for the past – the first taken from a nineteenth century document and coloured in a rich, soft palette of crushed strawberries and antique blues, the second, looser and more stylised, bohemian, Bloomsbury-esque style of design and palette. Primavera, printed on both linen and cotton chintz, splashes Rembrandt-style, blowsy tulips across the canvas. An Indian influence suffuses Cristabel with its wide spaced, fanciful bell flowers coloured in subtle aqua, old blue and tomato and green. Fuchsia is a Colefax classic coloured in new rich tones.
Lamorna Checks and Stripes features a wide array of luxurious country style linen weaves. A star among the stripes is Porth a sophisticated mix of colour and graded widths. Relaxed and easy to use it sits comfortably with Gillan a Herringbone stripe in the same subtle colourways, reminiscent of a vintage school blazer, both designs are complemented by all-rounder Tyrell, a smaller ticking-style stripe whilst Hardy and Jay are adaptable, hardworking sophisticated designs in eight colours a piece.
